Training for All

The work at Comet demands a great many professional and social skills. Ongoing training is therefore essential. All employees, irrespective of their individual working arrangements, have the opportunity to and are encouraged to take part in educational events, such as training courses, seminars, trade fairs, and conferences. For example, all Comet employees have attended seminars in rhetoric and interpersonal communication skills. Furthermore, the latest reference literature in the form of books and trade magazines are available to read in all of our offices. In addition, regular company meetings are used to raise and discuss current issues.

Transfer of specialist knowledge

Comet has always recognised the importance of constructive information transfer. The challenges of today's IT industry can only be overcome if people combine their specialized knowledge to create a common solution. At Comet, it is therefore standard practice to pass on specialist knowledge to collegues. We also seek to extend the discussion to a wider public, regularly taking part in conferences, trade fairs, and congresses, in order to further our knowledge, as well as to present our innovative corporate culture and gather outside opinion.

Focus on vocational issues

Comet encourages its employees to join and take an active part in trade associations, either as a member or partner.

Practice and theory combined

In 1997, Sissi Closs, managing director of Comet, was appointed professor of technical communications at the Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences. This allows her to make a significant contribution to the training and education of tomorrow's technical writers. As an employer, she can contribute valuable experience and practical knowledge. In her own company, internees are given the opportunity to put their theoretical knowledge into practice and gain first-hand experience of working in technical documentation.
