Comet is one of the leading providers of technical documentation. We design and create documentation for both print and electronic media in many languages. Just some of the many types of documentation we create are user guides, online help, catalogs on CD-ROM, reference books, system manuals, text books, training material, computer-based training products, and Web sites for Internet and intranet.

Since the late 1980s, our company has focused on documentation design, document management, and online documentation. Through our many years' experience with online documentation, we now hold a unique position in the German market. We are often responsible for the entire documentation concept for large projects. Using state-of-the-art technology, we design and implement efficient solutions for our customers, which are suitable for all types of media.

In response to the general shift toward computerized documentation processes, Comet has developed its expertise in the area of information architecture, in which software-supported solutions are designed and implemented in the documentation environment. This includes customized solutions, form management, automated document management, graphical user interface design, Internet and intranet solutions, as well as the development of CD-ROM products.

In today's documentation projects, the ability to produce documentaion in multiple media formats, specialized documentation (for different customer adaptations, variants, languages), efficient administration with no redundancy, as well as advanced editing functions are increasingly important. For several years, SGML and XML have been an established part of this environment. Comet has many years' experience working with structured documentation for renowned customers.

Our work has received wide recognition and has set standards in other companies. Among our customers are large names in manufacturing, banking, and insurance, as well as local government authorities.

Since March 1997, Sissi Closs, our managing director, has been Professor of Information and Media Technology at the Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences. Her areas of specialization are Internet, SGML, online documentation, and document management.
