Topic-oriented Structuring |
|
Concepts and strategies
Due to an ever-increasing extent of documentation, production costs have to be reduced while raising the quality at the same time. In addition, more flexibility is required for improved service to the user.
The right solution is topic-oriented structuring, which is already well known in the online help area. Its aim is to describe each subject in isolation and independent of context as a separate module, known as a topic. If the content is properly divided into such topics, it is easier to check its correctness and reuse specific parts of it. From a collection of “good” topics, you can then flexibly assemble documents according to your requirements for different target groups, aims and output media.
